What is counseling?
Counseling is a process in which a counselor helps you in identifying your problem and making decisions on your own, and gives you confidence in putting your decisions into practice. During the whole process of counseling the counselor avoids giving advice or suggestion but acts like a mirror to see your own thoughts, feelings and behavior. This gives you different perspectives of the problem you are facing and you get confidence to take your own decision. In the long run, counseling makes you more capable to deal with your problems.

Who is the counselor?
A counselor is a person who is trained to do counseling. A He/She takes into account your psycho-social, financial and spiritual needs. A counselor gives you the accurate information you need to know but not advice or suggestion. Counselor is a person to whom one can trust and share his/ her personal problem because he/she keeps all your information confidential and gives you the safest environment to explore your own thoughts, feelings and behavior without the fear of being judged.
Can I trust the counselor?
You can trust a counselor but you need to be sure that you are seeking help from a professional counselor. A professional counselor is the one who has the minimum of a degree or diploma in counseling from a recognized university/ institute.
